Book Description: The now widely known Map of calibrated levels of Consciousness was presented in Power vs. Force in 1995 and has been translated into all the world's major languages. This was followed by The Eye of the I (2001), I: Reality and Subjectivity (2003), and Truth vs. Falsehood (2005), which explored the levels of Truth reflected throughout society. Transcending the Levels of Consciousness returns to the exploration of the ego's expressions and inherent limitations and gives detailed explanations and instructions on how to transcend them. As with the reading of Dr. Hawkins' previous books, the reader's level of consciousness is advanced as a consequence of exposure to the information itself. This opens up avenues to the relief of suffering for oneself and others, which fulfills the purpose of the work and the intention to facilitate the reader's own Enlightenment.

Book Description: Using the psychohistorical schema of Jean Gebser, Kealey analyzes the positions of "environmental ethicists" and concludes that the first four of Gebser's structures of consciousness are inadequate to meet the present crisis. Drawing on Plotinus, Aurobindo, and Max Scheler, Kealey outlines an adequate "fully integral ecological ethic."

Book Description: Current mainstream opinion in psychology, neuroscience, and philosophy of mind holds that all aspects of human mind and consciousness are generated by physical processes occurring in brains. The present volume demonstrates empirically that this reductive materialism is not only incomplete but false. The authors systematically marshal evidence for a variety of psychological phenomena that are extremely difficult, and in some cases clearly impossible, to account for in conventional physicalist terms.

Book Description: Unless we have already become enlightened gods and goddesses, we all have needs for security, love, belonging, etc. Sometimes our needs and desires are not met by our life circumstances, which can make us feel distressed, discouraged, overwhelmed, etc. Using examples from her own life, and referring to tantric, taoist and other theoretical frameworks, Sam Red encourages us to become the master of our reactions and responses. She proposes techniques based on mindfulness, relaxation, hope/faith, connecting with nature, loving with awareness and accepting suffering. Moreover, she asks us to explore our identity beyond what we know of ourselves as rational, emotional beings so that we can live our lives in a more empowered and self-sustaining way.

Book Description: First published in France in 1936 as a journal article, The Transcendence of the Ego was one of Jean-Paul Sartre's earliest philosophical publications. When it appeared, Sartre was still largely unknown, working as a school teacher in provincial France and struggling to find a publisher for his most famous fictional work, Nausea. The Transcendence of the Ego is the outcome of Sartre's intense engagement with the philosophy of Edmund Husserl, the founder of phenomenology. Here, as in many subsequent writings, Sartre embraces Husserl's vision of phenomenology as the proper method for philosophy. But he argues that Husserl's conception of the self as an inner entity, 'behind' conscious experience is mistaken and phenomenologically unfounded. The Transcendence of the Ego offers a brilliant diagnosis of where Husserl went wrong, and a radical alternative account of the self as a product of consciousness, situated in the world. This essay introduces many of the themes central to Sartre's major work, Being and Nothingness: the nature of consciousness, the problem of self-knowledge, other minds, anguish. It demonstrates their presence and importance in Sartre's thinking from the very outset of his career. This fresh translation makes this classic work available again to students of Sartre, phenomenology, existentialism, and twentieth century philosophy. It includes a thorough and illuminating introduction by Sarah Richmond, placing Sartre's essay in its philosophical and historical context.
